Q Front Cover

This is Q magazine which I have chosen to analyse.
The logo of Q magazine is what makes the magazine and it will always be the same in every magazine size and colour as this is the colour scheme for the magazine. Q magazine will keep to their colour scheme as this is their house style. This also tends to be the same with the fonts that they use.
The photo that they have used is a close up shot of the artist that is the main feature of the magazine. This particular issue of the magazine would be more aimed at the girl readers of the magazine more than the men. This is so because of the wide popularity that Cheryl Cole has with women and the interest they have in her. However the picture would show more of an interest to the male audience as she is posing provocatively which may deter the female audience and attract the male readers of the magazine. The use of the red lipstick is a sign of sex, lips are said to go bright red when we are at a state of arousal. This is another way in which q magazine are able to attract the male audience.
The caption is a very good use of words incorporated with the song title. The title of her hit single is 3 words, q magazine have used this song title to make a caption out of it which is very imaginative. The other featured artists are set out along the left side of the magazine in which they are highlighted to make them stand out from the main image. This is the same with the top right hand side of the front cover in which they have their secondary feature of best new acts. They have used a bigger style font to the left hand side in order to make the reader look for this first over the other articles.
