Q magazine contents page

This is the contents page for the magazine Q which was published in November 2005. The scaled down logo for Q is situated in the top right hand corner always as this is their style. In comparison with other similar magazines the contents page is usually always titled ‘contents’. Whereas with NME they have their own unique take on their contents page to differentiate form the others. The colour schemes that Q use is the same colours that they use as their house style, it is important they stick to the colour scheme throughout to keep the magazine professional. The left hand side has the sub headings in which they put their articles into ‘features’, these are highlighted in black to distinguish them from the articles. The page numbers for the article are set out in red next to the articles they relate to and the articles are in a black font which is slightly larger than the font underneath which has a sentence on what is in the article. These sentences may have certain artists names mentioned in them and if they do then they are in bold to make them stand out. This particular issue of Q has a special John Lennon issue included inside; it has been separated from the others in the contents by having a box title ‘the John Lennon issue’. This particular part of the contents page takes on a different colour scheme in which it uses silver and black to emphasise that it is a special issue. The picture that has been used to feature on the contents page is a close up shot of one of the artists that is being featured in the magazine, the picture is very important as he is making eye contact with you so that you will have a connection with the picture. Also at the bottom of the page they have a quotation relating to an artist with a page relation to make you specifically turn to this page.
