This is my magazine article which I have decided to base on the British rapper ‘example’. The reason why I have decided to base my magazine on this particular artist is that I feel that it would match the target audience that I am aiming my magazine at.
For the main picture I have decided to spread it across the page to give the article a unique look and to reinforce the photography used. The picture that I have used is a long shot as this is taken from inside a gig standing in the crowd. The two sub pictures I have changed them to black and white to give them the same effect as the main picture. I decided to change the colours of the pictures as I felt the original colours of the pictures did not really fit into the article as well as they do after they have been edited.

The article has been set out into structured columns which make it easier for the writing to flow rather than having it in one big paragraph across both pages. This also makes the article look professional and has spent time on setting out the article. The gutters in between the columns break up the text for the reader making it easier to read. I have decided to give the article a kicker as a way to get the reader into whom and what the article is about. The use of a pull quote in the bottom left is a way of attracting the reader to a particular point in the article which is why I have decided to place it over one of my sub pictures.

Overall I feel that the layout for my article suits the audience that I am aiming the magazine at. By using all the features that I have mentioned such as kickers and pull quotes I feel that this article would be a success with the readers. The colour scheme of black and white works really well for this article as the artists logo Is black and white and the photo that has been used for the main picture was black and white so I felt that it would be best to keep to the colour scheme.
